Yan is the best. I’ve trusted him with my cuts and color for over five years, and I cannot go anywhere else. He can assess what actually flatters you so I never come with photos or demands: I leave the decisions to him (which says a lot given how particular I am). It's a hardwon trust and he has never disappointed.

When I first came to Yan I asked for balayage because it was trending and I had gotten it a few times but he said that didn't make sense for me and chose a different approach, and the result was wayy better. I always appreciate 1) honesty and 2) expertise - Yan really knows his craft.

I'm also a devotee of his shampoo/conditioner. I remember when he was developing it and obsessed over the formula and every detail. (I'm trying to get him to make a travel size)

When you get highlights it's hours in the salon- we yap the whole time. absolute best results and such wonderful man- i always look fwd to my appointments...more

I cannot say enough good things about Yan. I’ve been going to him for six years, and he is truly one of a kind. He was the very first person to ever color my hair, and from day one he absolutely nailed it. My hair always looks phenomenal, to the point where I’m constantly asked, “Who does your color?” and “Who cuts your hair?”

Beyond his incredible talent, Yan genuinely cares about hair health, and it shows in everything he does. I am obsessed with the shampoo and conditioner he launched. They are hands down the best I’ve ever used. I notice a huge difference in my hair texture whenever I travel and don’t have them with me. Nothing compares. I recommend them to everyone, and now entire groups of friends, my husband, and even family members all go to Yan because of how amazing he is.

I also have to mention the entire staff. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming, and when I walk in, it truly feels like family. A special shoutout to Yancey, who does the shampoo and conditioning. She is incredible at what she does and is genuinely so warm and thoughtful. That part of the experience alone is something I look forward to every visit.

I truly couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. If you’re lucky enough to book with Yan, do it. You won’t regret it....more

Nick came up with a personalized plan for my ideal hair color that looked natural and would be low maintenance. He took his time and was so meticulous even though we went well over the allotted time (because I have so much hair!). Yan is the only person in NYC I've been able to trust completely & consistently with my hair and every cut and color experience has been amazing. He understands how to make blonde highlights pop while remaining super natural looking, and he's also super cool/laid back and easy to talk to.

The R+Co products are phenomenal (Yan also makes his own products now, ask about them!) they have the best music playlists, and you can get a coffee/espresso drink while getting your hair done. You will feel like a brand new person coming out of here, highly recommend.

Note: tips are cash only so make sure you have some $ on you when you come in! (I made this mistake my first time and had to run out to find an ATM)....more

Timur is W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! I saw him for a hair cut and I am very very happy with the results. Its exactly what I wanted! I have been going to the same person for years now and have been happy with the results. I have always received compliments on my blonde color and people asking where I get my hair done. But my girl only did color and I had to get my hair cut with someone else (typical in NY). I found myself usually blow drying my own hair and leaving the salon with my hair tied back. I missed getting a blow out when paying so much for my coloring (again typical for NY).

So I decided to look for someone new. I did some research, I take my hair VERY seriously ;) And found Yan and K&S Salon. Their reviews were exceptional so I decided to book an appointment.

I booked a full set of highlights & a cut. All I can say is that I was BEYOND happy with the results. Yan colored my hair a little differntly that would prolong my next visit. I have very long hair and it grows fast so I usually try to go in every 5-6 weeks at the most. And he was right! My roots were less visible than before.

My cut was great, he did exactly what I asked for even though I miss those two inches ;) And he was right! I have received compliments on my hair and have referred friends to go to his salon.

The salon is nice, clean and in a prime location, Mestpacking area.

I just booked my second visit and am looking forward to getting my blonde fix again!...more
